Hope Weekly Remembers and is Reminded of the Hope We have…

Over the past few months at Gun Lake Community Church, we have had several precious brothers and sisters pass away through many different circumstances and who have gone to be with the Lord. It is a season in which we have experienced deep grief, sorrow, comfort, and love. It is also a season that has reminded us of the power of the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. In Jesus Christ, we have a hope that is greater than all of our circumstances. In Jesus Christ, we have a hope that overcomes sin and defeats the grave. In Jesus Christ, we have hope that holds us in God’s love and brings us comfort and peace. Brothers and Sisters, put your hope in the Lord.

Here are a few of the promises shared through this season. May they speak to your hearts and give you hope today and everyday:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17

“I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”  John 11:25-26

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?…No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:35,37-39

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit!” Romans 15:13
